Friends of Cuba in Saint Lucia celebrate the end of the year and 60’s anniversary of Cuba’s Revolutionary Diplomacy

The executive of the Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia – Cuba), headed by its President Marlene Alexander, met yesterday at the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba to this country, on which occasion they celebrated the new year, the anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and in particular the 60th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.  Ambassador Alejandro Simancas expressed his deep gratitude to all members of the Association for their intense work during this year in support of Cuba and their fundamental contribution to the strengthening of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of both countries. He also recalled the commemoration of the sixtieth anniversary of Cuba’s Revolutionary Diplomacy, which was celebrated in tribute in Havana with the presence of the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel. Representing the friends of Saint Lucia, Marlene Alexander, recounted the hard work accomplished during the year and highlighted the commitment to continue working together in strengthening the Association and in its purpose to be the best exponents of the value of the friendship that unites us.

Cubans in Saint Lucia reaffirm their commitment to the homeland

A representation of Cubans living in Santa Lucia came together last Saturday at the Cuban Embassy in this country, to commemorate a new anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and to celebrate the end of the year. After singing the notes of our national anthem, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas reported on the convening of the IV Conference "The Nation and Emigration" to be held from 8th to 10th April, 2020 and stressed that under the ideal of José Marti of "With all and for the good of all", the participation of all Cubans to preserve the Homeland continues to be relevant.

47 years of friendship between Cuba and CARICOM. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, highlighted today the sovereign and dignified policy of the Caribbean nations with respect to Cuba, on the 47th anniversary of those links. "Today, December 8, we celebrated 47 years of Cuba- CARICOM relations. The small nations of the Caribbean, with their sovereign and dignified policy, pioneered opening their arms to Cuba when the empire demanded isolation," said the Cuban President on Twitter.

First set of Saint Lucians learn to read and write with the Cuban Literacy Method "Yes I can".

Twenty-seven Saint Lucians received on Sunday the title of graduates of “Yes I can”, in what was the conclusion of the first pilot stage in the application of this literacy method on the island. The ceremony, held at the Castries Finance Administrative Center, became a day of emotions for graduates, who along with their families and friends, demonstrated that it is possible to change and transform their lives through knowledge and education.

Tribute to Fidel in Santa Lucia.

A tribute activity to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his physical disappearance took place yesterday at the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba in this country. The activity was organized by the Humanistic Association of Solidarity Cuba-Santa Lucia and was attended by more than 80 people, including members of the aforementioned organization, the Association of graduates in Cuba, representatives of different social sectors and the diplomatic corps.
