St. Lucia authorities attends “EXPOCARIBE” trade fair.
The “EXPOCARIBE 2019” trade fair concluded this weekend in the city of Santiago de Cuba. The event, one of the largest of its kind dedicated to the Caribbean, was held at the Heredia Cultural Complex of Santiago de Cuba City, on June 19 - 22 2019. Saint Lucia was represented by the Honorable Bradley Felix, Minister for Commerce, Industry, Investment, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs and the Chief Executive Officer of Export St Lucia (TEPA), Sunita Daniel.
Cuba and Saint Lucia initiate cooperation in the education sector.
In the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Education of Cuba and Santa Lucia, signed last February, three Cubans specialists arrived in Castries, who will contribute with their support and advice on aspects related to the development of this important area. The V Meeting in Latin America of the "Bonn Challenge" that was held last week in Havana, include the participation of Souraya Niles, Deputy Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Agriculture, Food Production, Fisheries and Rural Development, as well as Alfred Prosperous Deputy Chief Forest Officer. This important event was attended by Environment ministers and forestry authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean. They joined efforts to boost regional reforestation.
Cuba rejects inclusion in US blacklist about human trafficking.
The US government this week included Cuba in its blacklist of countries that do not do enough to combat human trafficking, a measure that can lead to the imposition of coercive measures. The President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, denounced this accusation to which he catalogs of immoral, deceitful and perverse. He considers it a US slander that attacks Cuban medical collaboration, an example of solidarity, humanity and noble and legitimate cooperation among the countries of the South.
Cuban Foreign Minister heads delegation to the 6th CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, participated to the 6th CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting, which took place in Guyana last June 14. In his speech, reiterates the Cuban´s permanent commitment to cooperate and share its modest achievement with the Caribbean.
