Saint Lucia receives Cuban cooperation in education.

Castries, March 1, 2018. The Minister of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development of Saint Lucia, Dr. Gale Tracy Christiane Rigobert and the Cuban Ambassador in that island, Jorge Francisco Soberon Luis, signed on Monday, the 19th of February 2018, in the offices of the Saint Lucian Government, the Memorandum of Understanding for bilateral cooperation in education.

Saint Lucia Minister for Sports visits Cuba.

Castries, February 23, 2018. Honorable Edmund Estephane, Minister for Youth Development and Sports, visited Cuba to assess the prospects of bilateral exchange in sport. During the visit he met with Antonio Becali Garrido, President of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, and visited several facilities dedicated to the development of that activity. Cuba and Saint Lucia work to strengthen the exchange in sports.

Saint Lucia recognizes the Cuban Medical Cooperation.

Castries, November 2, 2017. Senator the Honourable Mary Isaac, Minister for Health and Wellness, received the Cuban Ambassador, Jorge Francisco Soberon Luis, who presented the Minister with the invitation to participate in the International Health Convention "Cuba Salud 2018" and the "Health for All" Fair, to take place in April 2018 in Havana.

During the meeting, the positive state and perspectives of Cuban medical cooperation were confirmed.

Saint Lucian Prime Minister reiterates friendship with Cuba.

The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Allen Chastanet, received in his office on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, the Cuban ambassador in that island, Jorge Soberon. During the meeting, the state of cooperation between the two countries was updated. The Cuban Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for mentioning the friendship that unites the two Caribbean countries, in his speech at the High Level Debate of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, which took place in New York.

Political leader of the Labor Party SLP denounces the Blockade.

The statement came as part of the speech delivered by the parliamentarian, Opposition Leader and Political Leader of the Labor Party of Saint Lucia (SLP), Philip J. Pierre, during the open session of the annual Conference of Delegates of that political organization, which took place on October 8, 2017, in the district of Vieux Fort South. Pierre called the blockade a cruel policy and called for its elimination. He wished the rapid recovery of Cuba after the passage of Hurricane Irma.
