Victoria, September 2_ Cuban Ambassador in Seychelles Martha Hernandez Caneiro held a pleasant meeting with Mrs. Rose Marie Horeau, Minister of Local Government and Community Affairs of Seychelles.
It was an excellent opportunity to exchange information about the local development projects being carried out in our countries, in order to promote projects that contribute to the autonomy of the territories, the generation of jobs and the improvement and welfare of their inhabitants, based on their own potential.
Official mourning declared in tribute to those killed in Matanzas fire
Havana, August 17 (RHC)- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez decreed official mourning, which will be observed from 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19.
The news was announced by the prime-time Cuban television newscast.
When the news was released, it was pointed out that the control and extinguishing of the fire at the tanker base in Matanzas was a heroic act in which personal and collective courage prevailed. It represented a new epic for the Cuban people.

World personalities demand Biden to end blockade on Cuba
Washington, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) Artists, intellectuals, politicians, scientists, activists and religious leaders today sent a letter to the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to demand the end of the blockade against Cuba in the midst of the devastating fire in fuel depots.
“Sanctions feed the fire,” say the signatories of the letter, among whom are US intellectual Noam Chomsky, British politician Jeremy Corbyn, musician Roger Waters, philosopher Judith Butler, and the Afro-American Cornel West, known for his fight in favor of human rights.
