Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Trust renews solidarity with Cuba

Harare, January 24, 2025- The Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Organization today renewed support for Cuba in the face of President Donald Trump's decision to reinstate the Caribbean nation on the illegal and unjust list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

We, the Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Trust, stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Cuba in these tumultuous times, with revealed and disturbing pattern of hypocrisy that undermines international law and the principles of self-determination and sovereignty.

Statement of the Revolutionary Government

US President Donald Trump lashes out against Cuba from day one and without pretext. The decision to reinstate the tough economic warfare measures against Cuba, which his predecessor removed just days before, proves the aggressiveness of US imperialism against the sovereignty, peace and welfare of the Cuban people. These measures comprise the inclusion of our country, once again, in the arbitrary list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, a designation that shows an absolute disregard for the truth.

Harare, 18 January 2025- The Zimbabwe Anti-Sanctions Trust today reiterated its solidarity with the people of Cuba in facing the challenges of the prolonged economic blockade imposed by the United States.
We recognise that while steps have been taken to ease some sanctions, such as the removal of the unjust list of countries sponsoring terrorism, they fall short in addressing the fundamental rights and freedoms of Cubans, emphasises a statement released in this capital.

Cuban Foreign Minister denounces U.S. government exclusion of Cuba from preparations for Ninth Summit of the Americas

I have to report that Washington has decided to exclude the Republic of Cuba from the preparations for the 9th Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles on 8th to 10th June and is presently exerting extreme pressures on numerous governments in the region which, privately and respectfully, oppose our exclusion. The US government is deceiving public opinion and the governments of the hemisphere.

(Prensa Latina) The attack against the Embassy of Cuba in the United States on April 30, shocked people in the two countries and abroad who immediately condemn the event and expressed their solidarity with the Island.

Since an individual opened fire early morning against the building of the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C., versions of what happened and the motives of the assailant started to circulate in the social media and some American press media.
