Thailand-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Council established to boost trade
The first session of the recently established Thailand-Latin America and Caribbean Business Council took place on 25 August 2020, with the participation of Ambassadors from nine Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru) as “honorary members”.
Cuba to begin clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccine
Havana, August 19 (RHC)-- Cuba will begin on Monday, August 24th, the first stage of clinical trials of its candidate for the COVID-19 vaccine, whose results will be available in January 2021, according to the Cuban Public Registry of Clinical Trials.
The research to develop the prophylactic drug called "Soberana 01" covers 676 people between 19 and 80 years of age and is being conducted by the Finlay Institute of Vaccines.
US is against peace in Latin America, Cuban FM denounces
Havana, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla has accused the United States on Tuesday of sabotaging the Proclamation as a Zone of Peace assumed by all Latin American and Caribbean countries in 2014.
On his Twitter account, Rodriguez Parrilla recalled that proclamation assumed by the continent in January 2014, during the 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in Havana.
'In 2014, all Latin American and Caribbean countries signed our Proclamation as a Zone of Peace,' the diplomat wrote.
Tribute to Fidel in Thailand on the 94th anniversary of his birth
BANGKOK, August 12, 2020.- An emotional tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz took place at the Cuban Embassy in Thailand, on the 94th anniversary of his birth on August 13, 2020.
At the event, which featured the projection of the audiovisual material "Ode to the Revolution", historical and current information was provided on the work of the Cuban Revolution of 1959, its principles of independence and national sovereignty, solidarity and internationalism. Participants highlighted the validity of revolutionary ideas and the legacy of the Commander in Chief.
