Cuba reports two new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours
Havana, July 16, 2020 -- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported that there were two new cases detected of COVID-19, for a total of 2,440 positive cases across the island.
During his daily press briefing held Thursday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up until 12 midnight Wednesday night -- fortunately, no patients died from the coronavirus. A total of 87 patients have died in Cuba over the past several months.

Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves receives Cuban Medical Brigade "Henry Reeve".
Kingstown, July 14. A few hours after their departure, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves and other members of his cabinet received at the Official Residence the Cuban collaborators who are members of the Henry Reeve Brigade and who are returning to the Homeland with their duties fulfilled.
In his words of gratitude, the Vincentian leader recalled the internationalist feat of our people, recalling passages from our presence in Africa, the decisive role in the end of apartheid and the ever-present legacy of the Commander in Chief.
Reviving the nation, controlling the epidemic
During yesterday’s meeting of the COVID-19 task force, led by President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, Minister of Public Health José Angel Portal Miranda reported that 94% of patients with SARS-COV-2 in Cuba have recovered and, as of Tuesday, only one was in serious condition, with the other 67 hospitalized patients responding positively to treatment.
