Cuba condemns the impact of the blockade on telecommunications development at the UN.

New York, 27 April, 2026 – Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to a fairer and more inclusive international information and communication order during the 48th session of the UN Committee on Information.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reiterated his delegation’s willingness to actively participate in the Committee’s work. He acknowledged the efforts of the Global Communication Department and emphasized the need to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and integrity in information.
