On 30 May, Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, delivered a speech at the First Preparatory Meeting on the WSIS+20 Global Review. This event was held at the UN headquarters in New York as part of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) global review process.
Cuba will continue to promote cooperation based on solidarity
(Prensa Latina) — Today, H.E. Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said that Cuba will continue to promote scientific and technological cooperation based on solidarity, mutual respect, and the sovereignty of our peoples.
Soberón participated in the 22nd session of the United Nations High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation, where he stated that structural inequalities, the digital divide, and a lack of financing continue to hinder progress.

On Tuesday, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, Cuba's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, spoke at the 22nd session of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation.
The diplomat stressed the need to strengthen alliances among Southern countries based on solidarity, complementarity, and respect for national priorities. She described this as an essential issue at a time when multilateralism faces enormous challenges.
