Statement by the Revolutionary Government: Cuba condemns fresh attacks by Israel against the Palestinian people.

Havana, May 15, 2018.The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba vehemently condemns the criminal attack on the defenseless Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, by the Israeli Army which has killed at least 52 people and left over 2,400 injured.

This act constitutes another serious and flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law, and a new outrage against the Palestinian people.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, met on May 15 with Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, was also present. La Habana, May 9, 2018.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba expresses its strong condemnation of the decision made by the United States government to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or Iran nuclear agreement, and re-impose sanctions on this country. Failure to abide by these international commitments undermines the norms of coexistence among states and can have serious consequences for stability and security in the Middle East.
