On September 23, Cuban President Díaz-Canel addressed a New York City auditorium packed with solidarity activists. Organizers traveled from across the entire US not just for a chance to hear the speakers, but also to reaffirm their commitment to ending the criminal blockades against Cuba and Venezuela and removing Cuba from the US’ “state sponsors of terrorism” list.

Our planet is living through the most complex times of all. The post-pandemic world has become a more divided, unjust and unequal place, particularly as multidimensional crises, has a huge impact and affect particularly developing countries. The situation demands an innovative approach if we wish to protect the interests of current and future generations.
G77+China demands right to development at the Future Summit
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reaffirmed the need to guarantee the recognition of the right to development for the countries of the Global South on the route to the Summit of the Future in 2024. Speaking at the preparatory meeting for that event, the head of Cuban diplomacy insisted on the right of the South countries to live without having hunger or poverty as a priority.
Cuban president addresses G77 and China foreign ministers' meeting in New York
The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel spoke Friday in New York, at the opening of the 47th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 (G77) and China. Cuba holds the pro tempore presidency of the bloc from January this year until 2024.
Cuba continues its bilateral agenda at United Nations headquarters
New York, 21 September 2023.- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, continued his bilateral agenda in the UN headquarters, after meeting with representatives of Vietnam and Saint Lucia and signing the Treaty for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity.
