Cuban dance company Malpaso performs in New York.
The Cuban dance company Malpaso began this Tuesday, October 10, a series of presentations at the well-known Joyce Theater in Manhattan. The company, directed by maestro Fernando Saenz, will be performing until next Sunday, October 15, with the work Dancing Island, which has the musical accompaniment of the Cuban pianist and composer Alejandro Falcón.
Cuba elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Cuba was elected, for the sixth time, to the Human Rights Council, in recognition of the prestige achieved by the country in the work of the Council. With the secret, direct and individual vote of 146 Member States of the UN General Assembly, Cuba was the country scoring the highest number of votes in the region.

President Díaz-Canel returned to Cuba after participating at the 78th period of sessions of UN General Assembly. In a meeting with Cuban diplomats, Díaz-Canel highlighted that the work carried out at the UN ratified the success of the recently concluded G-77 Summit, and meant a support to the fight of Cuba against the blockade and its inclusion on the list of states supposedly sponsoring terrorism.

On September 23, Cuban President Díaz-Canel addressed a New York City auditorium packed with solidarity activists. Organizers traveled from across the entire US not just for a chance to hear the speakers, but also to reaffirm their commitment to ending the criminal blockades against Cuba and Venezuela and removing Cuba from the US’ “state sponsors of terrorism” list.
