Cuba condemns and denounces new escalation of US economic blockade
The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the new escalation by the US government against Cuba in its efforts to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies to our country.
The executive order issued by the US President on January 29, 2026, declares a supposed national emergency, under which his government will be able to impose trade tariffs on imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.
Eternal honor to the 32 heroes fallen in Venezuela
Havana and all of Cuba observed days of profound mourning and revolutionary resolve between January 15 and 16, in homage to the 32 Cuban heroes who fell in Venezuela during the United States aggression. The tributes, led by the highest leadership of the Revolution and massively supported by the people, reaffirmed the condemnation of the state terrorism perpetrated by the U.S. government.

The 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) was held in Abu Dhabi on January 10, 11, and 12, 2026 and Cuba participated, represented by its Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, and also took part in the Ministerial Meeting of Small Island Developing Countries and in the panel "Roadmap for the Renewable Future in the Latin America and Caribbean Subregion."
