US President Donald Trump lashes out against Cuba from day one and without pretext. The decision to reinstate the tough economic warfare measures against Cuba, which his predecessor removed just days before, proves the aggressiveness of US imperialism against the sovereignty, peace and welfare of the Cuban people. These measures comprise the inclusion of our country, once again, in the arbitrary list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, a designation that shows an absolute disregard for the truth.

Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;

2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and

Abu Dhabi, January 13. The Cuban delegation composed of the Ambassador of Cuba in the UAE, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, and First Secretary Jorge Mazón Rodríguez, participated in the 15th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held in Abu Dhabi, #UAE, from January 11 to 13, 2025.

In its sessions and deliberations, Cuba ratified its commitment to contribute to accelerating the global energy transition towards renewable energies.

Dubai, January 8. Norberto Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of Cuba to the United Arab Emirates, held a very productive meeting with Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, where they reviewed the areas of cooperation agreed between the governments of the UAE and Cuba, contemplated in a memorandum of understanding signed in 2023 and its action plan derived from this commitment.

Abu Dhabi, December 19. The 18 ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean represented in the capital of the United Arab Emirates were received in a formal audience to close the year by the Minister of State for Cooperation, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashmy.

The meeting was a fruitful one, where the willingness of the Emirati Nation to increasingly expand its relationship with our continent was reaffirmed.
