Cuba satisfied of results in Abu Dhabi Special Olympics Games

Eleven medals in Special Olympics

The delegation of Cuba to the World Games of the Special Olympics, which ended today, satisfied part of this Emirati capital for having done the homework with 11 medals and receiving recognitions from hosts and other participants.

 

The 11 medals won by the Cuban delegation at the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi are proof of the spirit of human solidarity inspired by the Revolution.

The Cuban team of weights culminates its performance with excellent results in the World Games of the Special Olympics 2019

The Cuban team of weights successfully completed its performance at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi 2019, after the 2 participating athletes showed their strength, quality and refined technique to obtain a total of 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze and 1 fourth place.

The weightlifter Yaritza Parrado won the gold medal in the squat (silver) and silver medals in Deadlift (deadlift) and Bench Press (bank), thus achieving another gold medal in the combined total, for a total of 2 medals of Gold and 2 of Silver.

Cuba present at the opening of the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince and Supreme Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces, opened the Special Olympics World Games in a colorful ceremony that took place at the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

The Cuban delegation was widely applauded upon entering the stadium to parade with athletes from more than 190 participating nations and received ample sympathy, admiration and respect from the public and all those present that were broadcast on the screens inside and outside the stadium .
