Cuban Ambassador Invited to Government Event on Human Rights in Monrovia

To commemorate International Human Rights Day on December 10, the Liberian government organized an event attended by representatives from various branches of the executive and judicial branches of government responsible for upholding human rights.

As a guest at the official event, Cuban Ambassador Dr. Indira López Arguelles denounced the war and the violations of human rights suffered by the Cuban people due to ongoing U.S. imperialist aggression. She also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government.

Suva, December 13. With a call to defend the principles of the United Nations and strengthen its role on the international scene, the Cuban Embassy participated in the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of that Organization and for Human Rights Day, which took place in Nadi, to the west of the country.

The economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States of America against Cuba for almost six decades is the most unfair, severe and extended system of unilateral sanctions ever applied against any country.  From April of 2017 until March of 2018, the period with which this report deals, the blockade policy has intensified and it continues to be applied will all rigor.

Kuwait, Oct. 26, 2016. Andres Gonzalez Garrido, ambassador of Cuba in Kuwait visited the headquarters of the weekly magazine The Times of Kuwait, where he held a meeting with his editor in chief Reaven de Souza.

 

During the meeting they discussed various international issues of interest, including the vote of the Cuban resolution against the blockade, that to be held this October 26 during the sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
