Cuban Ambassador visits the cities of Salt Lake and Provo, Utah “Building bridges”

The Cuban Ambassador to the United States, José R. Cabañas, visited Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah, on October 22-23, 2019 following an invitation extended by the President of the Brigham Young University, Mr. Kevin J. Worthen, to attend an Ambassadorial Program hosted by this academic institution. The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Edlia González, and by Third Secretary Yanet Pumariega.

Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal elected a member of AAA&S in US

PRENSA LATINA- Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal, one of Cuba's most recognized intellectuals, is now a member of the important American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAA&S).
Cuba's Ambassador to the United States, Jose Ramon Cabañas, attended on Leal's behalf on Saturday the initiation ceremony held by the Academy based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in which Leal became an International Honorary Member.

The Cuban delegation to the 57th Directing Council of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO), led by Minister of Health José Ángel Portal will not be able to attend this event due to visa restrictions imposed by the government of the United States. PAHO Directing Council is the most important meeting held by health organizations of the entire region.

Illinois US Businesspeople Interested in Boosting Trade with Cuba

(Prensa Latina) The Illinois-Cuba Working Group expressed interest in promoting trade between the United States and the island during a visit of Cuban diplomats made to that state.
 
In a statement released on occasion of a visit by Rodney González, counselor of the Cuban Embassy, and Dariel Quintana, third secretary, that organization called for a regular collaboration with Cuban officials, and recalled that Illinois has a long-standing relationship with Cuba.
