Cuban Prime Minister arrives, begins official friendship visit
Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz leading a high-level Government delegation of Cuba arrived in Hanoi late September 28, beginning an official friendship visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh.
This is PM Cruz’s first visit to a country outside Latin America since he took office in December 2019, and also the first to Vietnam by a high-ranking leader of Cuba since 2018.
Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee receives Cuba’s First Deputy Foreign Minister
Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, has suggested the Cuban Party and State to further push for cooperation and delegation exchange with the Vietnamese city in areas of mutual interest, including youth exchange, healthcare, biology and education. He made the statement while hosting a reception for Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba on August 31.
Cuba and Vietnam in conditions to strengthen friendship ties
Cuba and Vietnam count on all factors and conditions to further strengthen their brotherly ties, according to the Cuban ambassador Orlando Hernandez Guillen.
The spirit of independence, resilience, equitable and mutually beneficial cooperation for the cause of the Revolution of each country and as a contribution to peace, stability, cooperation and development, are bases to support the strengthening of bilateral ties on, Guillen stated.
