Zimbabwe highlights Cuba's contribution in the health sector

Harare, 14.06.23. The Chargé d´Affaires a.i. of Cuba in Zimbabwe, Yoisy Ford García, was received by the Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Honorable Dr. J. C. Mangwiro, at the headquarters of the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health. The head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Bárbara M. Reina Vargas, was also present.

Bindura University of Science Education appreciates the contribution of Cuban professors

Harare, 08.06.23. The Vice Chancellor of the Bindura University of Science Education, Professor Eddie Mwenje, held a fraternal meeting with the Chargé d´Affaires a.i. Cuban, Yoisy Ford Garcia.

Mwenje conveyed gratitude for the Caribbean island's support of the Zimbabwean educational system. He recalled the beginning of the Cuban collaboration in the University and the achievements. He expressed interest in expanding the presence of West Indian educators in the institution.

Zimbabwean Deputy Foreign Minister receives Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Cuban

Harare, 06.06.23. Zimbabwe's Deputy Foreign Minister, Hon. Dr. David Musabayana, received Chargé d'Affaires a.i. from Cuba in Harare, Yoisy Ford Garcia.

The moment was propitious to highlight the good state of bilateral relations and the interest of both countries in continuing to strengthen historical ties and boost trade ties. The achievements in the Health, Education and Biopharmaceutical sectors were highlighted. For her part, the Cuban representative thanked Zimbabwe for its support in Cuba's battle against the US blockade and in the international dialogue scenarios.

Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe commemorated the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Medical Collaboration

Harare, 31.05.23. The Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe commemorated the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Cuban Medical Collaboration with a visit to the Brian Lemons Memorial Hospital, in Murewa, Mashonaland East province. The Chargé d´ Affaires of the Cuba, Yoisy Ford García, was received by Dr. Stanford Mahaire, director of the Hospital and graduated in Cuba in the 80s. Also present were Dr. Bárbara Reina Vargas, head of the Cuban Medical Brigade and Dr. Stanley Mungofa, President of the Zimbabwe-Cuba Friendship Association.

Zimbabwe present at the General Council of the World Federation of Democratic Youth to be held in Cuba

Harare, 23.05.23. The Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe received the young Zimbabweans, Taurai Kundishaya and Munashe Makiba, members of the executive of the ZANU PF Youth League who will participate in the General Council of the World Federation of Democratic Youth to be held in Cuba from 24 to 28 May. The Chargé d´ Affaires a.i. of Cuba, Yoisy Ford García, appreciated the positive response of the ZANU PF Youth League for being part of the event. She advocated for the strengthening of links and cooperation between the youth organizations of both countries.
