Malaysian Health Minister Receives Cuban Ambassador

Kuala Lumpur. - Malaysian Health Minister YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad received Cuban Ambassador Florentino Batista González on August 27 to discuss issues of common interest for both nations.
At the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, the ambassador explained the importance of collaboration on health issues, and highlighted possible alliances to work in hard-to-reach communities, an experience that Cuba has been part of in other countries.
Issues related to the development of vaccines at the local level and the standardization of procedures in both countries were also discussed, in order to shorten times and achieve results for biotechnology in both nations.
At the meeting, it was proposed to continue moving forward in order to formalize collaborations on issues of biotechnology, public health and pharmaceutical development.
The meeting at the Malaysian Ministry of Health in Putrajaya, the federal capital of Malaysia, was also attended by other authorities on the subject, including senior managers of specialized agencies under the jurisdiction of the ministry, which deal with issues such as public health, pharmaceutical registration, and clinical trials, among others.
