Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group celebrates National Rebellion Day.

Monrovia, July 26, 2020 - In compliance with the health protocols in force in the country, the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group celebrated the National Rebellion Day, a date of extraordinary importance for the Cuban people.

Led by the president of the solidarity group Mr. Kesselee Kanneh, its members met to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada military barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo, and to demand once again the lifting of the unjust and criminal blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba.

In addition to demanding an end to the inhumane U.S. policy, they denounced Washington's attempts to break Cuba and the pressure exerted by Donald Trump's administration on several countries to reject the help of the Caribbean nation's medical brigades.

One of the directors of the solidarity organization who studied his career in Santiago told how it is celebrated in Cuba on July 26. He also thanked Cuba for giving him the opportunity to study a university career and become a good man.

The activity concluded with shouts of Viva Cuba and Viva Liberia. On the same day the West African country celebrated the 173rd anniversary of its independence.
