The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated in an activity organized by the solidarity group Toronto Forum on Cuba to commemorate the beginning of our wars of independence on October 10, 1868.
Within the framework of the activity, the continuity of the revolutionary process from the independence struggles and its impact on the formation of patriotic values were highlighted. Messages of support for the Cuban Revolution were issued, demanding the lifting of the U.S. blockade against our people, in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, and with the Venezuelan people and government in the face of U.S. aggression.
The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, in his remarks, referred to the recent statement issued by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing total discontent with the mendacious accusations of the U.S. government regarding Cuba's alleged participation in the military conflict in Ukraine. In this regard, he categorically reaffirmed that Cuba is not part of the armed conflict in Ukraine, nor will it ever be mercenary; on the contrary, it has defended and been an example for its unconditional solidarity with all the peoples of the world.
