The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns the escalation of pressures and actions of the US government in preparation for a military adventure under the guise of a humanitarian intervention in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and calls on the international community to mobilize in order to prevent its consummation.

Thousands of Finns and visitors from different latitudes, along with exhibitors from 80 countries and travel agents from all continents, had the opportunity to approach the attractive options and multiple benefits offered by Cuba as a safe travel destination during the international tourism fair MATKA 2019. Considered the largest event in this sector in northern Europe, MATKA 2019 took place between 17 and 20 January at the fairground "Messukeskus" in this capital.
On January 16, 2019, the US State Department announced the decision to suspend, only for 45 days, the implementation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, “in order to conduct a careful review …in light of the national interests of the United States and the efforts to expedite a transition to democracy in Cuba, and include factors such as the Cuba’s regime’s brutal oppression of human rights and fundamental freedoms and its indefensible support for increasingly authoritarian and corrupt regimes in Venezuela and Nicaragua.”
