DECLARATION 4 May 2020 We, the Heads of State and Government, having met through video conference at the Online Summit level Meeting of the NAM Contact Group in response to Covid-19, under the theme of “United against COVID-19 pandemic” on 4 May 2020, upon the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, with a view to making an effective contribution to the global efforts in tackling the unprecedented effects of COVID-19 pandemic,

President Díaz-Canel to attend NAM´s Online Summit

Havana, 2 May 2020. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, will participate in the Online Summit entitled "We stand together against COVID-19", convened by Azerbaijan in its capacity as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, in the format of a Contact Group, which comprises representatives from various regions making up the Movement.
The event, which will be held via videoconference on Monday, 4 May at 7 a.m. (Cuban local time), will be chaired by Azerbaijan´s President, Ilham Aliyev.

In the early hours of Thursday, 30April 2020, an unknown individual opened fire with an assault weapon against the building of the Embassy of Cuba in the United States. There was no personal injury to the Mission staff, which is safe and protected, but there was material damage caused to the building resulting from the impact of the bullets.
