President of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation received a Cuban delegation

Addis Ababa. The President of the Athletics Federation of Ethiopia and world champion Haile Gebrselassie, received a delegation from the Institute of Sport, Phiysical Education and Recreation of Cuba leaded by Mrs. Elda Quiñones, Director for Inspection and Control of the above-mentioned Cuban institution.

Accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Ethioipia, H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas, both parties exchanged on the possibilities to establish cooperation in the field of athletics.

Ambassador of Cuba interviewed by Afri-Health

Addis Ababa. The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas, was interviewed by a journalist of The Mission program transmitted by Afri-Health channel. The exclusive was centered in the performance of the Cuban medical doctors in Ethiopia, as well as in the links of cooperation existing between Cuba and Ethiopia in the field of health.

Ethio-Cubans prepare the celebration of the 40th anniversary

Addis Ababa, July 1st, 2018. The Ethio-Cubans are currently organizing the 40th anniversary of their first arrival to Cuba. The celebrations are linked to the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Ethiopian and Cuban troops against the Somali invasion in 1978.

On the 30th June took place a Gala Dinner to express appreciation to the Ethio-Cubans from all around the world for their contributions to the foundraising campaign in order to support all the activities included in the program of celebrations.

Medical Scientific Seminar held in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, 30 June 2018. The Cuban Medical Brigade in Addis Ababa held the Regional Scientific Seminar on the researches made by the doctors while performing their duties in Ethiopia.

The papers presented included a variety of specialties such as pediatric, orthopedics, surgery, forensic medicine among others etc.

During the event, the Cuban Doctors made recommendations to be implemented in their respective services in order to improve the quality of the medical care.

Cuba present in the International Sugar Council

Addis Ababa. A Cuban delegation led by the Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas attended the 53rd International Sugar Council that was in session in this capital from the 26 to 28 June,

During the deliberations, the participants analyzed the world tendencies of the sugar market and national experiences on the development of the industry were exchanged.

Cuba is member of the International Sugar Organization since 1994 and play an active within that entity.
