Popular consultation on the Cuban Code of Families starts in Accra.

Accra, March 12 - The State Mission of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Ghana is initiating the popular consultation on the new Code of Families as part of the broad participatory process in which the largest of the Antilles is immersed.

 

With the presence and active participation of 20 voters, key issues of the Family Code were discussed, reflecting the reality of today's Cuban society. This process of the Code is another example of the inclusive society to which all Cubans belong.

 

Constituency Electoral Commission constituted in Ghana.

In accordance with the decision of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba, the 105th Electoral Commission was constituted and sworn in this afternoon at the Cuban Embassy in Ghana. The members of this Commission will be responsible for organizing, directing and validating the process of popular consultation and referendum on the Code of Families in Cuba.

 

Cuban Ambassador presents letters of credence to the President of Ghana.

 

 

Ambassador Anette Chao García presented to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the letters of credence accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in this African country.

 

The solemn ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace of this capital in the presence of the Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. Mercedes Suarez Orama, head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, attended the ceremony on behalf of Cuba.
