Iran slams designation of Cuba as state sponsor of terrorism

TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman strongly condemned US designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Saeed Khatibzadeh strongly condemned the US act to put Cuba on the list of the state sponsor of terrorism and emphasized the solidarity of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the Cuban government and people against the global arrogance.

Cuba and Iran are committed to expanding and strengthening their cultural ties and exchanges in the tourism sector.

Tehran, January 6, 2021. Mr. Alireza Izadi, Director General of the Office of the Minister and International Affairs of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, received this morning the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy from Cuba, Counselor Tania Causse Rodríguez, with whom he held a fruitful exchange aimed at the common interest of expanding and strengthening cultural ties between both countries as well as developing relations in the tourism sector.

Through this declaration, we Cubans residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran wish to make clear our total rejection of the actions from the United States that seek to politically and socially destabilize Cuba.
We strongly reject interference in the internal affairs of our country and the use of paid mercenaries who openly advocate a resurgence of the Blockade, and even support a military intervention by the United States.
