Cuban Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada was received by the new Director of the Second Department for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mr. Ahmad Pabarja.
In this first meeting, both sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the Island and the Persian nation in several spheres, especially in view to the celebration of the next XVI session of the Intergovernmental Commission, which will take place on 13-15 February in Havana.
The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, sent a message of condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Hassan Rouhani, after learning of the tragedy caused by the fire and subsequent collapse of the emblematic building of the Plasco Trade Center in Tehran.
The Cuban president lamented the death of Iranian citizens, as well as the human and material damage caused by this terrible accident. He also requested to convey his condolences to the relatives of the victims.
Army General Raul Castro Ruz, president of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, sent a message to his counterpart Hassan Rouhani, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to express condolences after the death on January 8th of Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, former Iranian president and one of the historic leaders of the 1979’s Islamic Revolution.
In his message, the Cuban dignitary asked to extend his sympathies to the relatives of the late Iranian leader.
