The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto commemorated, as part of the Latin American Film Festival in Toronto, the National Day of Cuban Culture.

The Director of International Relations and Chief of Protocol of the Province of Ontario; members of the consular corps accredited to that city, such as the Consuls General of Angola and Dominica; Oscar Vigil, president of the Canadian Council for Hispanic Heritage and organizer of the festival; Julio Fonseca, president of the Association of Cubans Juan Gualberto Gómez; friends of solidarity and Cuban residents attended the event.

Tribute paid in Toronto to Canadian intellectual and defender of Cuban culture, Keith Ellis

The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto, together with members of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cubans and family members, paid a well-deserved tribute to Professor Keith Ellis, an intellectual of Jamaican origin, who has worked actively in the promotion of our culture in Canada, within the framework of the Cuban Culture Day.

Commemorative event held in Toronto on 10 October.

The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated in an activity organized by the Toronto Forum on Cuba solidarity group to commemorate the beginning of our wars of independence. Several solidarity groups, members of the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Canada participated.

Within the framework of the activity, messages in support of the Cuban Revolution were issued, demanding the lifting of the US blockade against our people and in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Cuban Ambassador to Canada met with Greg Fergus, Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada.

Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Cuba's ambassador to Canada, was received today by Greg Fergus, Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, the country's main legislative authority.

In a cordial atmosphere, both figures exchanged on the good state of bilateral relations, which will reach their 80th anniversary in 2025. The occasion was also propitious to address the existing potentialities to promote bilateral ties, especially in economic and commercial matters and between the Parliaments of both countries.

The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto held a working meeting with the Chief of Protocol and Director of International Relations of the province of Ontario.

The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, held a working meeting with Veronica Panton, the new Chief of Protocol and Director of International Relations of the province of Ontario, at the headquarters of the provincial government.

During the meeting, the will of both parties was reaffirmed to advance in projects of mutual interest, identify potential areas and sectors that allow a greater rapprochement between the province and our country, and promote spaces and initiatives to support the Cuban community settled in this area.
