Ambassador of Cuba meets with the Honorable Yves-François Blanchet, leader of the Bloc Québécois

June 19, 2024. Cuban Ambassador to Canada Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz visited the Honorable Yves-François Blanchet, leader of the Bloc Québécois.

During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador gave an update on the economic and social situation of our country and the effects caused by the tightening of the blockade and the arbitrary inclusion of the island on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

June 17, 2024. Cuban Ambassador to Canada Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz paid a courtesy call on Senator Peter Boehm, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Committee of the Senate of Canada.

During the meeting, several issues of bilateral interest were discussed, including the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025 and the potential for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

Cuba for Peace from Canada

In a tour of 11 cities in Canada, Leima Martinez Freire, Director of North America of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, together with Aileen Carmenaty Sanchez, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada, in charge of social movements, carried out an intense program to exchange on the "Role of Cuba in the struggle for Peace".

Cuban Ambassador pays visit to Ottawa Mayor

Ottawa - June 11, 2024. As part of his presentation activities as new Ambassador of Cuba to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, visited today the Mayor's Office of the Capital of the country.

In this context, he had a positive exchange with His Worship Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa, and he wrote a warm greeting on behalf of the Cuban people in the Visitors' Book of the Mayor's Office.

XI Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC)

On June 8 and 9, the XI Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) was held in the city of Toronto. The event was attended by representatives of more than 20 organizations and other friends of Cuba, who have worked intensely to promote solidarity and love for our people for decades.

As part of the event, a balance of the actions developed by each organization during the last two years and proposals for actions to continue promoting and adding friends to support Cuba were made.
