Ottawa, March 19, 2025 - The VI Meeting of Inter-Chancellery Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and the Ministry of Global Affairs of Canada was held this Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerardo Peñalver Portal and his Canadian counterpart, His Excellency Mr. David Morrison.
As part of the celebrations for the 80th Anniversary of the bilateral relations between Cuba and Canada, on March 18, Niagara Falls was dressed in the colors of the Cuban flag, while the notes of our national anthem were sung by members of solidarity with Cuba, the Association of Cubans Juan Gualberto Gomez and the collective of the Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto.
The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated together with the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto “Juan Gualberto Gómez” and the solidarity group “Together for Cuba” in the filling and shipment of a container of aid with medical supplies to Cuba destined to the Faustino Pérez Hospital in Matanzas.
This is the first container of humanitarian aid sent to Cuba by the two organizations this year, and the 13th container sent since 2021 to date.
The Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, together with Consul Tania Valenzuela Veiga, offered a virtual conference on the Cuban experience in the course on global sexual and reproductive health rights to fourth year graduate students in health sciences at McMaster University, located in the city of Hamilton.
