Cuba expands cooperation with WFP, despite US blockade.

Havana, 4 March, 2024 - Cuba has maintained close cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP) since 1993, despite the limitations of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States more than six decades ago.

Sources consulted by the Cubadebate website explained that the island rigorously complies with the indicators and principles of control and monitoring of food delivery established by the WFP at the international level.

Donations to the Cuban health system from Montreal

From Montreal, the efforts of several Cubans are materialized in the collection of donations for the Cuban health system. The welfare of Cuba is always present in their hearts.

A Cuban doctor living in the province of Quebec donated medical equipment for operating rooms to be sent to Cuba by solidarity organizations.

Another token of love for our people was the donation made by a fellow Cuban to the Lawton Polyclinic in Havana. No gesture is small when it comes to contributing to the welfare of the Homeland.

National Day celebrated at the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa

National Day was celebrated at the Cuban Embassy in Canada, in homage to the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the 171st Anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí.

Celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution in Ottawa

Members of solidarity organizations and friends of Cuba in Ottawa celebrated the 65th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the 171stAnniversary of the birth of the Apostle José Martí. 

During the event, the Cuban Ambassador to Canada, Héctor Igarza, exchanged views with those present on the importance of the celebration for Cuba and the world. He also referred to the dissimilar achievements of the Cuban Revolution, despite the hostile policy of the U.S. toward our people for more than 60 years.
