The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto in coordination with the Hispanic Heritage Council of Canada (HCHC) organized the closing ceremony of the Hispanic/Latin American Heritage Month celebration activities in Toronto, which was entirely dedicated to Cuba.
On the afternoon of October 23, Member of Parliament Gabriel Ste. Marie presented to the House of Commons the petition e-5014 calling on his country’s government to request the United States to lift the blockade against Cuba, as well as the removal of the island from the list of States sponsoring terrorism.
A tribute for the National Culture Day was held at the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa. The event was attended by members of the Canadian Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, friends of Cuba and Cuban residents.
The Canada-Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group held its Annual General Meeting this afternoon, a space that served to exchange on the state of relations between the Parliaments of both states and to continue strengthening them.
As reported, Cuba is currently affected by a complex electro-energy situation, aggravated since last Friday, October 18, which has its main cause in the intensification of the U.S. economic war and financial and energy persecution, which hinders the import of fuels and other resources necessary for that industry.
