President of Maldives sends message of condolence to the President of Cuba

SRI LANKA, May 19, 2019. - H.E. Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom President of the Republic of Maldives has sent a message of condolence to the President of Cuba His Excellency Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, following the plane crash in Havana.

The President’s message reads as follows:

"I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the crash of a Boeing 737 airliner in Havana, claiming the lives of over a hundred passengers onboard and critically injuring others."

President of Maldives sends congratulatory message to the new Cuban President

SRI LANKA, April 30, 2018. - The President of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Yemeen Abdul Gayoom, sent a message of congratulations to the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, on the occasion of his recent election.

The President of the Maldives reiterates the historic relations between Cuba and the Maldives, based on mutual respect and goodwill, while also hoping to further expand the lasting bonds of friendship between the Maldives and Cuba.

Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Ministry receives the Ambassador of Cuba

SRI LANKA, April 27, 2018. - Mr. Prasat Kariyawasam, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, received on a courtesy visit the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Headquarters of that Ministry.

During the meeting, both parties reiterated the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries, as well as the interest to continue working on their strengthening.

Ambassador holds meeting with JVP Leader

SRI LANKA, April 24, 2018. - The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, received at the Cuban Embassy the Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Leader of the People’s Liberation Front (JVP) and member of the Parliament.

During the meeting, both parties reiterated the ties of friendship and cooperation between the JVP and the Communist Party of Cuba and exchanged on various issues of bilateral interest.

Minister of Health of Sri Lanka received the Ambassador of Cuba

SRI LANKA, April 18, 2018. - The Honorable Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutrition an Indigenous Medicine of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, received at the headquarters of that Ministry in Colombo, the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the state of bilateral relations in the health sector and the perspectives for its further development and strengthening.
