Cuban ambassador participates in meeting with vice chancellor of the Australian National University

Canberra, 6 May 2024. The Cuban Ambassador Tanieris Diéguez participated in a meeting with Professor Genevieve Bell, Vice Chancellor of the Australian National University (ANU).

The meeting was also attended by the other GRULAC member countries accredited to Australia.

The occasion was an opportunity to exchange on academic topics and specific issues related to the work between Australia and the Latin America and the Caribbean region.

Cuban ambassador participates in meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong

Canberra, 6 May 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba, Tanieris Diéguez, participated in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, the Honorable Senator Penny Wong.

The meeting was also attended by the other GRULAC member countries accredited to Australia.

The meeting provided an opportunity to address issues of interest to the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It was also possible to exchange with the Chancellor on the potential for joint work between Australia and the region.

Friends of Cuba and Cubans in Melbourne stand against the Blockade

Melbourne, May 5, 2024. This morning, a large group of friends of Cuba and Cubans living in Melbourne took to the streets to demand an end to the blockade against Cuba and in support of the Cuban Revolution and its people. 

During the march, Cuban and Palestinian flags were raised in support of the noble cause of the Palestinian people.

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba

With the aim of encouraging tourism, facilitating the flow of travelers and continuing to promote friendly relations and cooperation with the People's Republic of China, it has been decided to exempt Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports who wish to enter, transit, leave or remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba from the visa requirement.

Chinese citizens who wish to remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba for a period exceeding ninety (90) days, as of entry, must apply for the corresponding visa.

Cultural Night in Canberra in favor of Cuba

Canberra, May 4, 2024. A cultural evening took place in Canberra, sponsored by the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society. During the evening, musical numbers of Cuban culture were performed to great acclaim by the audience.
