Friends of Cuba march in support of Cuban Revolution during Sydney May Day activities

Sydney, 1 May 2024. Members of the Sydney branch of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) marched in support of the Cuban Revolution during International Workers' Day activities.

During the march, they carried signs supporting the Revolution and demanding an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States government.

Canberra, 1 May 2024. Members of the Inner Wheel Club of The Hawkesbury, Australia, travelled to Cuba to bring solidarity donations, especially medicines and other supplies for the children in the paediatric ward of the Oncology Hospital in Havana.

Under the coordination of Alison Newton and Julie Boden, the Australian friends began their trip by meeting the Cuban softball team, an encounter that turned out to be very fortuitous.

In Cuba, they had the support of ICAP and the “A Cuba hay que quererla” project.

Ambassador participates in presentation of Australia's candidacy to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)

Canberra, 29 April 2024. The Cuban Ambassador Tanieris Diéguez participated in the presentation of Australia's candidacy to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

Members of the accredited Diplomatic Corps attended the event, hosted by Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong.

The Cuban ambassador briefly exchanged with the Chancellor and took the opportunity to convey greetings on behalf of the Cuban government.
