Adelaide and Perth, May 4, 2024. Members of the Australian Cuba FriendShip Society carried out activities in favor of Cuba in the cities of Adelaide and Perth.
During the day, moments of Cuba's history were shown on different stands, as well as discussions about the experiences of the "Cruz del Sur" Brigade, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Canberra, May 3, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia held a fraternal meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Luis Laya.
During the meeting, both diplomats discussed the close ties of friendship and solidarity that exist between the two peoples and the excellent state of bilateral relations.
The occasion was propitious for the Cuban diplomat to express her gratitude for Venezuela's firm position against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
Sydney, May 3, 2024. Friends of Cuba took to the streets of Sydney in an action in support of the Cuban Revolution and against the U.S. embargo against Cuba.
Several representatives of the Australian Cuba Friendship Society, in particular young people, paraded with Cuban flags and banners demanding an end to the policies of economic asphyxiation against the Cuban people.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked the ACFS members for their support to the Cuban people.
Canberra, 3 May 2024. Members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Workers Union (CFMEU) received recognition from the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC).
The recognition is a show of gratitude on behalf of the Cuban people and government for the solidarity actions carried out by Australian friends in favour of Cuba.
Cuba's Ambassador to Australia met this afternoon with Greg Hardford, CEO of the Canberra Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, the diplomat presented the potential for expanding trade links between Cuba and Australia in areas of common interest.
