Cuban Chargé d'Affaires a.i. participates in the reception for Colombia National Day

Canberra, 18 July, 2025 - The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in Australia, Ivianes González Llanes, attended the official reception organized by the Embassy of Colombia in Canberra on the occasion of the 215th anniversary of the Independence of Colombia.

The reception was attended by Australian authorities, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Canberra and representatives of the Colombian community in Australia.

Solidarity Statement by “Australian Solidarity with Latin America”

Australia Solidarity with Latin America (ASLA), condemns the recent announcement made by the current United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, imposing sanctions on Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel.

This action constitutes and affront to International Law. It is a violation to the fundamental principles of solidarity among nations and shows a deep contempt towards Cuba’s sovereignty. It represents a continuation of imperialist policies to attack the revolution the Cuban people defend.

Cuban delegation present at the opening ceremony of the International Mathematical Olympiad 2025

Sunshine Coast, Australia, 14 July, 2025. With great enthusiasm and pride, the Cuban delegation participated today in the opening ceremony of the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which is being held from July 10 to 20 in Sunshine Coast, Australia. This prestigious event brings together more than 100 countries and the most talented young people in this discipline.

The Cuban delegation, composed by Professor Prudencio Guerrero and six outstanding students, paraded with the Cuban flag at the opening ceremony.

Canberra, 9 July 2025 - The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in Australia, Ivianes Gonzalez, participated in the smoke ceremony and official reception organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra, as part of NAIDOC Week 2025, dedicated to celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
