On Friday afternoon, a tribute was held at the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations to mark the 99th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader and Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, with the participation of representatives from various US organizations in solidarity with our country. The event was part of the commemorations leading up to the centenary of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, to be celebrated in 2026.

The Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, spoke at the virtual working meeting of the Standing Committee of the Movement “For the Freedom of Nations,” an informal international socio-political forum of supporters of the struggle against modern practices of neocolonialism.
In this context, Ambassador Gala López reaffirmed Cuba's historic commitment to the eradication of colonialism in all its forms and manifestations.
During the High-Level International Conference on Implementing the Two-State Solution, which took place from July 28 to 30 at the United Nations Headquarters, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, the Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations, reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and denounced the violations committed by the occupying power.
