During the plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly focused on the “Elimination of unilateral extraterritorial coercive economic measures as a means of political and economic compulsion, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Cuba's vice minister of foreign affairs, reaffirmed the Cuban government's unequivocal condemnation of these practices, which contravene international law and the fundamental principles of the UN charter.

At the United Nations, Cuba reiterates the need for comprehensive Security Council reform and urges the body to act accordingly with global challenges

During the plenary meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the Security Council’s 2024 Annual Report, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Cuba's Permanent Representative, reaffirmed the urgent need to transform the Council into a transparent, democratic, and representative body.
