Cuba denounces, at UN Security Council, US threats against Venezuela and reaffirms multilateralism as the basis for leadership for peace

New York, December 15, 2025 — The Chargé d'affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, spoke today at the Security Council's open debate, "Maintenance of international peace and security: Leadership for peace.", where he reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to defending peace based on respect for sovereignty, self-determination, peaceful settlement of disputes, and non-interference in internal affairs of States.

Cuba reaffirms its commitment to preventing genocide and denounces contemporary crimes before the UN General Assembly

New York, December 9th, 2025. — Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, delivered a speech today at the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity for the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime.

Cuba has joined the equitable global governance drive and denounced at the UN the coercive measures that hinder development.

New York, 9 December 2025. The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance today, an initiative that Cuba fully welcomes and supports. In his speech, Ambassador Guzmán expressed Cuba's gratitude to the People's Republic of China for convening this group, particularly given the current international context of growing inequalities, geopolitical tensions and ongoing development challenges.
