Cuba condemns the impact of the blockade on telecommunications development at the UN.

New York, 27 April, 2026 – Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to a fairer and more inclusive international information and communication order during the 48th session of the UN Committee on Information.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reiterated his delegation’s willingness to actively participate in the Committee’s work. He acknowledged the efforts of the Global Communication Department and emphasized the need to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and integrity in information.

Cuba reaffirms at the UN commitment to the rights of the indigenous people.

New York; April 24, 2026 – Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, addressed the 25th session period in the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, where he reiterated Cuba’s support for the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People and its full implementation.
