New York, 26 January, 2026. — Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán addressed the open debate of the Security Council titled: “Reaffirming the International Rule of Law: Ways to Revitalize Peace, Justice and Multilateralism”, where he highlighted that the International Rule of Law is an essential pillar of multilateralism and an indispensable condition for peace, security and peaceful coexistence among nations.

New York, January 12th, 2026. – The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, spoke at the Security Council Arria-Formula meeting entitled “Advancing New Paradigms for Peacebuilding: Fortifying Inclusive and Sustainable Approaches to Peacemaking”. He warned about the dangerous promotion of a doctrine based on force, power and coercion, in open contradiction to the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
