Cuba reaffirms at the UN that the global energy transition will only be possible if it is just, inclusive, and free from unilateral coercive measures 

New York, July 24, 2026.- Cuba’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, reaffirmed during the interactive dialogue "Accelerating the global energy transition: advancing renewable energy and mobilizing investment" held at the United Nations headquarters on Friday that the global energy transition can only advance effectively if it is based on equity, international cooperation, and respect for developing countries’ right to develop.

Cuba reaffirms at the UN Security Council that peacekeeping is only feasible with full respect for international law and condemns the United States’ aggressive policy

New York, 23 July 2026. – During Thursday's open debate of the UN Security Council on strengthening mechanisms for the peaceful settlement of disputes, Cuba reaffirmed that preventing conflicts requires addressing their root causes and applying the United Nations Charter and international law comprehensively and without double standards. Cuba's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, highlighted that peace cannot be built on coercion, hegemonic practices or the threat of force.

Cuba denounces at the Security Council that the unilateral coercive measures undermine the sovereign governance over natural resources.

New York, 22 July 2026. – Cuba reaffirmed at the United Nations Security Council that the governance of natural resources can only contribute to peace, security, and prosperity when States' permanent sovereignty over their wealth, international law, and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter are fully respected. This was stated by Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, at the high-level open debate "Natural resources governance: the foundation for peace, security, and prosperity."

New York, 20 July 2026. - Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reaffirmed the Cuban people's profound admiration for the South African leader at the special commemorative session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to Nelson Mandela International Day. He highlighted the lasting relevance of Mandela's legacy as a universal champion of the struggle for human dignity, equality, self-determination of peoples, and respect for international law.
