Cuba Reaffirmed at the General Assembly its Commitment to the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy and Denounced Violations of International Security

New York, November 14, 2025. — The Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, spoke at the General Assembly’s plenary meeting on item 89: “Report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)”, where she reiterated Cuba’s strong support for the Agency and its role in promoting international cooperation and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Cuba is advocating in the Security Council for comprehensive and far-reaching reform that ensures transparency, democracy, and representation.

New York, November 14, 2025. — The Chargé d'affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, spoke today at the Security Council's open debate on its working methods. In the context of the 80th anniversary of the UN and an increasingly complex and challenging international scenario, he stressed that the Security Council must effectively play its role in maintaining international peace and security in accordance with the Charter of the Organization.

Cuba reaffirmed at the UN, its determination to fight impunity and its commitment to impartial and truly independent international criminal justice.

New York, November 11, 2025. — During the debate on agenda item 76 of the UN General Assembly, concerning the "Report of the International Criminal Court," Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, Chargé d'affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, reiterated Cuba's commitment to fighting impunity for crimes affecting the international community.

During a debate in the Sixth Committee of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Cuba rejected the host country's selective and arbitrary use of the Headquarters Agreement

New York, November 7, 2025. — Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, Chargé d'affaires, a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, spoke at the Sixth Committee's debate on agenda item 160, concerning the “Report of the Committee on Relations with the Host Country.”

In his statement, Ambassador Gala López referred to the persistence of unjustified restrictions imposed by the United States, which continue to affect several delegations of UN Member States.
