New York, June 17, 2026. – Cuba denounced before the United Nations the grave humanitarian consequences of the intensified economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and called for strengthened funding for international humanitarian assistance to respond to the growing needs of millions of people worldwide.

New York, 16 June 2026. - This Tuesday, Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the comprehensive protection of children at the Annual session of the Executive Board of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of preserving and strengthening this agency’s mandate in an increasingly complex international context.
New York, 16 June 2026. - Cuba reiterated today in the United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization its strong support for the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, by addressing the debate on the Western Sahara issue.
Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, reaffirmed Cuba’s strong commitment to the final elimination of colonialism, at the Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24), as well as the full implementation of the United Nations mandates in terms of decolonization.
