For months, the U.S. Secretary of State led an aggressive campaign aimed at installing a prominent member on Washington’s payroll—an outspoken supporter of the blockade and aggression against Cuba—as an allegedly impartial human rights expert.
During the commemorative session for the 80th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN, addressed the General Assembly to reiterate our country's firm and unwavering commitment to the Organization's founding principles.
At the 35th meeting of the States parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Cuba's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Gala López, reaffirmed the country's commitment to fully implementing this instrument, considered as a pillar of international maritime law and global cooperation in the oceans.
Today, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, spoke at the plenary briefing on the “UN 80” initiative. She stressed the importance of a transparent, inclusive, and respectful management of Member States’ mandates.

The threat of direct aggression by the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran, encouraged by the genocidal government of Israel, became a reality after the cowardly bombings of the nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Cuba strongly condemns these serious acts, which constitute a dangerous escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law.
