New York, December 9th, 2025. — Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, delivered a speech today at the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity for the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance today, an initiative that Cuba fully welcomes and supports. In his speech, Ambassador Guzmán expressed Cuba's gratitude to the People's Republic of China for convening this group, particularly given the current international context of growing inequalities, geopolitical tensions and ongoing development challenges.

The diplomat denounced the collective punishment, extreme cruelty, and systematic violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people for more than seven decades of colonial occupation.
