New York, January 16, 2026. – Cuba’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Daylenis Moreno Guerra, stressed the need for the Security Council's annual report to the General Assembly for 2025 to be comprehensive, analytical, transparent, and allow for a real assessment of the causes and implications of that body's decisions.
New York, January 14, 2026. – Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, addressed the General Assembly at the UNGA President’s Briefing on the priorities for the resumed 80th session, amid the proliferation of conflicts, the weakening of multilateralism and the serious threats to international peace and security which have prevailed in the current international context.
New York, January 12th, 2026. – The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, spoke at the Security Council Arria-Formula meeting entitled “Advancing New Paradigms for Peacebuilding: Fortifying Inclusive and Sustainable Approaches to Peacemaking”. He warned about the dangerous promotion of a doctrine based on force, power and coercion, in open contradiction to the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
New York, January 5th, 2026. – The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, denounced the United States’ military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at today’s emergency meeting of the Security Council, in line with Cuba’s firm and sustained position on the escalating hostile actions by the United States against Venezuela and the region.
