Cuba reaffirms its commitment to nuclear disarmament at the United Nations

Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, participated in the General Debate of the III Preparatory Committee for the XI Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

In this scenario, he reaffirmed Cuba's position in favor of nuclear disarmament and the definitive elimination of nuclear weapons. At the same time, it signed the Uganda Declaration on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the working documents promoted by this group.

During the meeting of the Security Council held in the Arria Formula format under the theme: "The Impact of Unilateralism and Bullying Practices on International Relations," Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, reaffirmed his country's commitment to multilateralism and its rejection of bullying practices as a threat to development, peace and international security.
