Guyana, July 28- The Global Friendships Foundation presided by Mr. Waynewright Orderson salutes the historic and heroic anniversary of the 26th of July marking the attack on the Moncada barracks. The triumph of the revolution remains a lighthouse of hope and optimism for millions of persons worldwide but more particularly us in the Caribbean. We salute the sacred achievements of Cuba, which offers its people dignity and manages to lead the way in various fields, despite adversity and the unacceptable ongoing blockade.
Guyana, July 28, 2022. Cuba marked the anniversary of Fidel Castro’s first armed uprising 69 years ago on Monday with renewed calls for an end to the US embargo since the blockade has deeply affected the nation’s fortunes.
According to President of the Guyana-Cuba Solidarity Movement (GCSM), Halim Khan for some, such posturing recalls the Cold War and the Cuban missile crisis between the United States and the former Soviet Union, which brought the world to the brink of nuclear warfare and was a major motivation for the blockade against Cuba.
Georgetown, July 26th, 2022. Sixty-nine years later, Cuba is exceptional in many ways; education, bioengineering, and health in particular.
However, it is important to bear in mind that it is due to the inhumane economic blockade imposed and maintained by the US on Cuba, which cannot fully take advantage of the positive side of globalization and trade liberalization in favor of the Cuban people.
