Cuba condemns coup in Bolivia

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, strongly condemned the coup in Bolivia on Sunday, stating on his Twitter account, “With a violent, cowardly coup the right wing has attacked democracy in Bolivia.“Our forceful condemnation of the coup and solidarity with brother President Evo Morales Ayma. The world must be mobilized to preserve the life and freedom of Evo,” he insisted.Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla likewise tweeted the ministry’s condemnation of the coup and expressed solidarity with Evo, leader and symbol of the demands for justice of the original peoples of Our America.The 701 members of the Cuban medical brigade in Bolivia are safe, with all necessary provisions, and are being kept informed of events in permanent communication with the mission’s leadership, stated Yoandra Muro, head of the brigade in that nation, speaking on Cuban television.On November 9, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a declaration stating, “Disregarding electoral institutions and the people’s mandate expressed at the polls, sectors of the Bolivian opposition, with the support and leadership of the United States and regional oligarchies, have launched a coup with the aim of denying the Bolivian people the electoral result. The opposition coup strategy has led to severe violence across the country, which has cost lives, hundreds of wounded, and expressions of racism toward original peoples.”

Guyanese youths with disabilities benefitting from Stimulation Centre

Gorgetown. Guyana. November 12th ,2019.CHILDREN, adolescents and youth with disabilities in Guyana are currently benefitting from a Regional Centre for their stimulation. The Regional Stimulation Centre (RSC) performs the function of a disabilities/special education diagnostic facility as well as treatment centre and a training centre.

The main objective of the Regional Centre is to provide care for children, adolescents and youth with disabilities through the facilitation of training for teachers and care-givers.

Minister of Business of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana receives the Cuban Ambassador in a courtesy call

Georgetown, October 30, 2019. The Minister of Business of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Honorable Mr. Haimraj B. Rajkumar, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Guyana, H.E. Mr. Narciso Reinaldo Amador Socorro, who paid a courtesy call to the Minister.

During the meeting, the Guyanese Minister confirmed his participation in the XXXVII edition of Havana International Fair (FIHAV) that will take place from November 4 to 8 at the EXPOCUBA fairgrounds where an important group of Guyanese businessmen will attend.

Tribute was paid in Guyana to the martyrs of Barbados

Georgetown, October 6, 2019. The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Cuban State Mission in Guyana paid tribute to the 73 victims who perished in the 1976 air disaster orchestrated by the CIA before the Monument to the victims of such Abominable crime.
