Monrovia, February 24, 2022 - February 24 marks the 127th anniversary of the beginning of the armed action organized by José Martí to achieve the independence of Cuba, which has been called the War of 95, the Necessary War or the Cuban War of Independence.

Uniting the new pines with the old pines could only be done by a man like José Martí, who managed to get Cubans to put aside their personal differences for the greater goal of seeing Cuba free.

Cuban Head of Mission invited to the 71st Anniversary of the University of Liberia.

Monrovia, February 21, 2022 - At the invitation of the President of the University of Liberia, Professor Dr. Julius J.S. Nelson, Jr., the Cuban Head of Mission in the African country Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated in the celebration of the 71st Anniversary of the main state university of that nation and one of the oldest in West Africa.

The academic event framed within the celebration of Liberia's Bicentennial was attended by national and international speakers who had studied at the prestigious university.

Asistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for American Affairs receives Cuban Head of Mission at the Liberian Foreign Ministry.

Monrovia, February 18, 2022 - In the morning hours, the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia by the Assistant Minister for American Affairs, Honorable Maxwell P. Vah, with whom she held a cordial and friendly meeting.

During the exchange, the two diplomats discussed bilateral and multilateral issues of common interest.
