The African Union condemns the continuation of the blockade against Cuba.

Addis Abeba, February 7, 2021. For the twelfth consecutive time, the Assembly of the African Union, made up of the Heads of State and Government of Africa, approved the “Resolution on the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Republic of Cuba for the United States of America ”.
The text expresses deep concern about the continuity of the blockade and expresses its full support for the Resolution that the UN General Assembly passes each year on the subject.

Assistant to the Liberian Foreign Minister for American Affairs meets with Cuban Head of Mission.

Monrovia, February 2, 2021 - The Head of Mission of the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia, Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, was received Wednesday at the Liberian Foreign Ministry by the Assistant to the Liberian Foreign Minister for American Affairs, Honorable Maxwell P. Vah.

The occasion was propitious to review important issues of the bilateral and multilateral agenda, aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.

Tribute in Liberia to José Martí on the 168th anniversary of his birth.

Monrovia, January 28, 2021.- The Cuban Embassy in Liberia and the directors of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association paid tribute to the National Hero José Martí on the 168th anniversary of his birth, and once again demanded an end to the U.S. blockade to the Caribbean island.

Monrovia, January 25, 2021 - Responding to an invitation made by the Speaker of the Liberian Parliament Honorable Dr. Bhofal Chambers, the Head of the Diplomatic Mission in Monrovia Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera, participated in the Annual Message Ceremony of the President of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. George M. Weah, to the IV Joint Session of the 54th Legislature.
