The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba rejects in the strongest terms the arbitrary and unjustified decision by the government of Ecuador.

On March 4, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador informed, through a Verbal Note, of its decision to declare all diplomatic, consular, and administrative personnel of the Cuban Embassy in Quito persona non grata, without providing any justification, and gave them 48 hours to leave Ecuadorian territory.

This is an unfriendly and unprecedented act that significantly damages the historic relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries and peoples.

Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated on February 28 by the United States and Israel, which violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

Cuba Reaffirms Commitment to Medical Training for the Solomon Islands.

Cuban Ambassador to Fiji, Nestor Torres, held a cordial meeting with the High Commissioner of the Solomon Islands, H.E. Joseph Ma'ahanua. During the exchange, they addressed topics of interest on the bilateral agenda. Cuba and Solomon Islands established diplomatic relations in 2002, and to date, 104 medical students have graduated from Cuban scholarships.

Cuban Ambassador Presents Credentials to the President of the Republic of Fiji

Suva, February 26, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Fiji, Néstor Torres Olivera, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to that Pacific nation. The presentation took place during a formal audience at Government House, following a review of the Honor Guard.
