Suva, April 9, 2026. - The Embassy of Cuba in Fiji extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies on the passing of the former President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Epeli Nailatikau. We gratefully remember the visit of Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Fiji, to Havana in 2008, his vision and commitment to cooperation between our countries. During this time of mourning, our thoughts are with the family. We join the nation in honoring his life and his remarkable service.
Geneva, April 9, 2026.- Cuba is participating in the Second International Conference on Unilateral Coercive Measures (UCM), taking place in Geneva on April 9 and 10, with a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo.
The event, organized by the Special Rapporteur on UCMs, Alena Douhan, is being held under the theme “Humanitarian Action, Reparation, and Accountability in a Context of Unilateral Sanctions.” The gathering brings together representatives of governments, international organizations, and experts in international law.
