The Greater Antilles will continue to be committed to the ACS

 

MARGARITA ISLAND, Venezuela.- Cuba reiterates its willingness to continue providing its modest experience in collaborative projects with Caribbean countries, said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of the Island, Ileana Núñez Mordoche.

As reported by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra, the statements of the official occurred during the II Cooperation Conference of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), in Isla Margarita, Venezuela. According to Sierra, the event also highlighted the role of the Greater Antilles in strengthening the ACS and more active cooperation among the nations of the region

Trinidadian Minister of Health receives Cuban Ambassador.

Port of Spain, February 27 - The Minister of Public Health of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Terrence Deyalsingh, received Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, ambassador of Cuba to the Caribbean island, at the institution's headquarters. The Minister was accompanied by Richard Madray and Dr. Roshan Padasran, permanent secretary and chief of medical assistance of the Ministry.

The parties discussed several topics of bilateral interest, among which stands out the continuity and perspectives for the strengthening of the fruitful and recognized relations of bilateral cooperation in the medical sector, as a result of which a hundred Cuban health collaborators work at the moment., which includes doctors, nurses and pharmacists. At present, both countries are working on updating the bilateral cooperation agreement. Likewise, was discussed the status of the projects under evaluation that will allow the entry to Trinidad and Tobago of important Cuban medicines.

Cuban delegation participates in Seminar on Disaster Prevention in the Caribbean.

Port of Spain, February 28, 2018.-  A Cuban delegation headed by the Cuban Ambassador in Trinidad and Tobago, Cro. Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, participated in the Seminar on Disaster Prevention in the Caribbean that was held in Port of Spain, organized by the International Red Cross.
The event was attended by various personalities from the region, international organizations and governments of CARICOM.

Cuban Ambassador visits the headquarters of the Trade Union of the Communications Workers of Trinidad and Tobago (CWU).

Port Spain, February 19 .-The Cuban Ambassador visited the headquarters of the Trade Union of the Communications Workers of Trinidad and Tobago (CWU), were was welcomed by its Chairman, Joely Mohamed and his general secretary, Clyde Elder. Other members of the Board of Directors of CWU and Alex González, first secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, were present at the meeting.
During the meeting the parties reiterated their interest in maintaining the solid and long-standing relations of cooperation between both institutions, a reflection of the excellent bilateral relations between both governments and peoples.

Cuba rejects interference and exclusion of Venezuela from Summit of the Americas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba energetically rejects the announcement by a group of nations in the hemisphere, released February 13 in Lima, that constitutes unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic de Venezuela, and at the same time categorically rejects the decision to reconsider the participation of the Venezuelan government in the 8th Summit of the Americas, to be held this coming month of April, in Peru.

A few days ago, the U.S. Secretary of State, on a tour of several countries in the region, stated that continuing in effect is the Monroe Doctrine, the most notorious interventionist policy of U.S. imperialism in our region. He called for a military coup against the constitutional government of Venezuela and advocated strengthening sanctions on the country. The decision adopted is not unrelated to these declarations and actions.
